One night in a conversation with Donovan Raschdorf of Radio NW and Green Room booking agent... I said, "Hey Donovan. I want to put together a band and play a regular gig here." He asked, "Can you play the blues?"I smiled back at him and out popped the So Called Blues Band. (2005-2006)

From time to time Stevi asks me to play keys for Jackson Rd. I was happy to be able to go with the band to Las Vegas, NV in Jan '06 to win third place in the World Folk Foundation National Battle of the Bands. The competition featured 200 bands from across the U.S.A.

Jersey Soul
The first time it went like this... we got the tape on Thurs, we practiced in the hotel room on Sunday at noon... the Blues Festival gig was at 3pm the same day. Judy Tint, I love you...
Backstage at the second year of Blues festing was one of Tracy Klas' friends Tommy Tutone who wrote the song "Jenny" [that I performed with the Governours (TX 1982) in my first outdoor rock show.] Good times.
Hungry Like A Wolf
Local singer Lara Michell, Nicole Campbell and a few other talented players put together a night of tributes to Duran Duran. I teamed up with Tracy to perform "Girls On FIlm" and the show rocker "Hungry Like A Wolf." Thanks to all who came to the Fez for that show.

Bart is one of the nicest people in the Portland music scene. His success on local radio station KINK.FM led to great shows at the Crystal Ballroom and Christmas Tree Lighting at Pioneer Square. This is what it looks like from the percussion station... nice crowd, Bart.

JC Tubbs
JC and I teamed up for several years to coordinate and run the showcases for the Portland Songwriter Assoc. Also, JC recorded two records at Sound Impressions Studios with me in Studio B. JC is from Lubbock, TX and writes songs about love and fun and Carlton Jackson, the Double XX Man.

Portland Songwriter Assoc Showcase
I was show coordinator and host for the Portland Songwriters Assoc. for about five years (until 2004.) These showcases held at various venues llike the Buffalo Gap and Mississippi Pizza offer a great way for new and other talent to perform for their peers and to receive feedback to improve their songwriting skills.
